"when we are wild... when we are wild... when we are wild..." i like trying to mimic the violin part on my trombone. and dancing the two-step with jon, our horns swinging left and right in rhythm to the song. red river is recording this weekend at long beach city college. i'm pretty excited. i'm also excited that LOST is back on. and i'm uber-excited to score the two films that stacy gave me <h1>update</h1> <p>2007-12-04T06:03:34Z</p> it occured to me today that i haven't posted to my livejournal in months. i've been one of those lurkers, reading everyone else's but not saying anything of my own. and that's just kinda creepy. <br /><br />so...<br /><br />here's what's new: <br /><br />jon and i had an intense weekend of recording and mixing to deliver a song to sufjan stevens for the Sufjan Stevens Xmas Exchange, in which he writes a christmas song, the contestents write a christmas song, he picks one that he likes, and the two artists switch songs. after that they can do pretty much whatever they like with the song (put it on an album, re-recorded it, etc.) jon's gonna win for sure. six and a half minutes of horn quartet, flute and keyboard, vocal harmony, giant drum buildup bliss.<br /><br />bill and i have begun mixing for the new red river album. it should be out this month and it's gonna rock. we played a show at zephyr cafe a couple of weeks ago and got a great response from everyone there. i think it was our best show yet.<br /><br />this semester is almost over (!) and it looks like the red river crew is going to portland during break to visit some old friends and play our record-release show. i'm excited to be out on the road and into prettier territory. <br /><br />also, i might go to san diego and mexico with ben to go to sea world and buy cheap
